Sponge Dissection
The sponge dissection was the very basic dissection we had, the dissection's purpose in my opinion gave us experience with dissecting tools like the scalpel, microscope, tweezers, and the pins to pin down skin. We dissected the sponge by cutting the tip off of the top and looking inside. The dissection was not very in depth into the anatomy of the sponge but to see how we would work with the tools our teacher, Dr. LB, gave us.

Jellyfish dissection
Squid Dissection
For this dissection we learned about the anatomy of the squid. We cut down the mantle to observe all of its structures inside. The yellow in the bottom picture is the ovaries which is surprising because it is over half the size of the squids body. Mimi Pinson and I learned how to carefully cut skin with scissors and a scalpel.

Evolution related things we did |
In the next dissection, we dissected frogs by cutting into the stomach and stretching the smaller intestine which turned out to be 16 cm. you can check out all the technical info below.

Reflection
This unit was straight forward and easy to learn, the dissections all had something to contribute and we learned a ton. However the unit got very repetitive. The other bad part would be the smell of the animals we dissected.
